M's Movie Choice #7: Crazy, Stupid, Love

Ahhh... it has been awhile since I blogged about a movie. I did spend some time in the cinemas over the year. Well, more than usual and I dont go to the movies often. One particular movie really caught my attention was Crazy, Stupid, Love.

I only really went to watch this because my friends wanted and I needed a break. Also, I kinda like Emma Stone.

There was Steve Carrell, Kevin Bacon, Julianne Moore, and Ryan Gosling to name a few. Not a A list star-studded cast but I think it all worked really well. I only really recognised Julianne Moore from her Bvlgari commercials. She looked HOT.

I dont need to give a run down on the storyline because I want you to go watch this. I am waiting for the DVD to be released before getting myself one. Some deleted scenes or behind the scenes will be pretty good.

Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling are so cute together and the chemistry is pretty good but not the most natural I have seen. She is seriously one lucky chick. And I like her. Bonus.

Thats my favourite scene ever! The boys fighting and how the whole story came together. Hilarious. I laughed both times I watched it. Yes I went to the cinemas TWICE for this. Sighs, Ryan Gosling is one stylish charming hot thing.

Continue to stare and stare. His style on this show is impeccable. And his style off screen is just as amazing. Reallu admire it and I told my friend G that he should take a leaf or two out of his book.

Now I know David doesnt read this but somehow Ryan Gosling reminds me of you. Yes, Phang you. I reckon its the face shape and the toned arms. goodness, I can so see his ego swelling at this point.

Anyhow, the charm and effortless style Ryan Gosling oozes are the only reasons I went back the second time. Dont get me wrong, Steve Carrell is hilarious but the acting is quite stiff for Moore, Bacon and the kids too. Not big fans there.

The stars here are really Stone and Gosling. Love the scene where they did Dirty Dancing move hahaha.

Before I give too much away, I leave you with another picture of my favourite scene. Where all four guys fight. ompf.

M's Food Find #49

Right, I mentioned that the bunch of us decided to have dinner at Bollywood Rest-o-bar before our Hangover 2 movie at Greater Union Cinema Complex (corner of Leige Street & Scarborough Beach Road, Innaloo).

A very clean, colourful, textureed and virbant decor greets you when you enter the door...

You could kick back with a drink at the bar

Even the menu is so fun to play with. Indian music was playing pretty loudly. It is like being transported into a fun Indian movie.

Really quite a lot to choose from!

Pretty candlelight...

That is the fish masala on the left and lamb curry on the right. Fish masala was generous with fish pieces and not that spicy. Lamb was spicier and really meaty. The meats soaked up the flavours really well I must say.

This is the minced lamb, Kheema Naan. It was really good and served piping hot.

I ordered the Aloo Paratha, which is stuffed with potato filling. We didnt want a heavy dinner, I guess. I really do like the occasional Indian cuisine with the spicy curries and all. I love basmati rice and goat curry is always a treat for me.

I find that service was pretty good, not the best but I think they were really accomodating with some of our group not eating and prompt service. It is sort of like a fine dining place, and an affiliate to the Two Fat Indians Restaurant.

Anyway, I would return to this place if I am ever in the area again! Yummy. My favourite indian place so far in Perth is Nine Mary's in the city, just across Matsuri and round the corner from Tony Roma's. I should convince my friends more to go out for indian cuisine! Hahaha. But I do know it is not everyone's cup of tea...

The cinema complex is one of the more advanced ones I have seen in Perth. That is the candy store! SO BIG right?! Chocolate and popcorn! Wheeeee.

And there you go, a photo of me with my dinner companions. Are you a fan of indian cuisine? What kind of food do you like having before movies? I know some people like going to fast food or pizza. Hmmmmm...

M's Movie Choice #6: The Hangover 2

FRIDAY! FRIDAY! EVERYBODY GET DOWN ON FRIDAY! Okay, shut up already May. I hate this song, and presumably you too. But I would like to clarify that if Chord Overstreet and the other two Glee guys sing this, I am cool with it though.

Anyway, I spent Thursday night at the movies with my two boys, Jeremy and Steven and Kelly and Ly and her husband. Just us sessional tutors for abit of fun. See, teachers aren't that boring you know. We headed to Event Cinemas down in Innaloo which is my first time there. It is huge and pretty cool for Perth. Very new and high tech. Everyone okay-ed my decision to watch The Hangover 2. My only reason for watching this: BRADLEY COOPER, he plays Phil.

They are epic though. Above is the poster for part 1 which I must truthfully admit that I haven't watch but no fear, I am going to buy both DVDs. Part 1 and 2 when they are sure to come out in a nice two disc pack. Instead of Vegas, the guys headed to Thailand for Stu's wedding to Lauren (played by Ed Helms and Jamie Chung respectively). There will be some spoilers so yeah, don't read on if you don't want to know.

Here in this photo of the boys lost in Bangkok, we have Phil, Stu and Alan (played by the hilarious Zach Galifianakis). With the most adorable and smart monkey. Yes, they woke up hungover shit and lost again. So they are re-tracing their steps.

The 'wolfpack' headed to Thailand, with Doug played by a pretty cute Justin Bartha. What a fine specimen of the male species, that Bradley Cooper. Looking good.

And one of my favourite scenes, Stu singing a really crappy song about their really crappy day while they sail through the river. I mean, the boys got into pretty shitty times with Phil getting shot (I nearly cried), Alan giving up the monkey (he was real upset), Alan getting paranoid and a tattoo like Mike Tyson and finding out he had sexytime with a ladyboy. There are some graphic moments too with some naughty bits images. OH BOY, is what I can say.

Funnyman Ken Jeong reprised his role of Mr. Chow and he had some good comedic lines in there! Ending was a happy one, of which I am proud to announce. I won't give it all away explicitly. I liked it, how it all ties in and everyone was back together, in whole pieces or not.

Well, so if you have nothing to do this weekend (I unfortunately just got delegated some work from my supervisors), GO CATCH THIS MOVIE! Bound to turn a blue day right around since laughter is the best medicine. Ly went home last night and watched the first movie with her hubs and she declared part 2 better. Well, you can go be the judge of that!

Till my next movie mood, Mayy xo
