This blog is my collection, my photo diary of sorts. Just a Singaporean independently living in Perth, Western Australia who loves to eat and travel. I know I am a shopaholic and probably need therapy for it.

Mayy's Closet #53
Whatever. I finally did so yay me! Cropped tops were the trends of last season but I believe if its something you really like and can rock no matter what, that is YOUR personal style. Never mind trends, just be yourself. AND unique. Surely, that is the biggest trend of all.
I like the butterfly sleeves and the fact that it is long enough for me to wear jeans with.

And this black silky one is from Dotti with silver leaf imprints. A tad too big for me I must say but I know it is so comfortable. Which is why I bought it. Although, I really shouldn't have because unlike the first one, I can't see it sticking around long term. Which is why I put it up for sale on the facebook pages like Clothes for Sale - Perth etc. No one is really asking about it yet though... Hmmmmmm. Funny how they don't have flea markets here in Perth like they do in Singapore. The fun kind for youths.
So what do you say to cropped tops? Yay or nay?

Mayy's Closet #45

I got the cropped top from Bangkok Chatuchak (I think). I really have no idea actually why I got it in the first place. Not that I don't like it but I think I can live without it. So I am looking to giving this away. To anyone who wants it. Friends, just email me or give me a shout out on fb or twitter. It is comfortable and I like that it is the right length to wear it just as a top and still look like you are not overdoing it.
Alternatively, wear it with a highwaisted skirt or highwaisted shorts or pants. The lace side panels are a little see through but its not like you are walking around with your arms lifted right!? I mean, I dont but it doesnt mean you cannot.
So yeah, sometimes impulse buying really gets you. Especially when you are on holidays. It is like you get home and say, do I really need this?! Or when did I get this?! Goodness...if only we are think clearly when shopping. I am glad that Shiyu has been my shopping companion these past few days. She has stopped me from oversplurging. Not that I would have minded, but I needed someone to say LOOK, you already have something similar in your closet or just hang on and dont buy it on impulse. Sighs.

Mayy's Closet #21
The three cute heart-shaped buttons on the Supre cropped top. I didn't quite know how I was going to wear this top when I bought it but I know I had to have it. At AUD2.50, I think I can afford buying it to stare at it even if I don't wear it. Good to know that I finally found a way to wear it out.
That's the front view of the outfit. Since the cropped top opens up in front, I had to wear a white basic tank as a base. I am not crazy about the front view but I guessed I could live with it because of...

The back view! and the side view. It is thankfully, not overly cutesy and the fitted skirt managed to give an edge to the outfit. I paired it with a pair of grey pointed flat pumps because well, I didn't think a pair of heels would be wise. It would have sort of an overkill, like trying too hard.
What do you think? Yay or nay? What would you pair the cropped top with? I am thinking jeans perhaps? Is it too revealing if I leave the basic tank out? Only if I have rock solid abs. HAHA.
