Mayy's Closet #91

Not so sure what the weather would be like when I return but my last day in Singapore is pretty good weatherwise - dewy, windy and none of the batshit crazy humidity and sun. If only Singapore is like that every day. Sighs.

Anyhow! Here's a closet post for a spring time outfit. To keep me slightly warm in the early morning and night, yet cool when I venture out for lunch with abit of the sunshine during the day.

The mint blue lace sleeve top is from Dotti, and I even paid full price for it because well, I really liked the colour! I dont wear it often enough regrettably. But I really liked it with white pants or like here, a white skirt.

I am selling the white highwaisted skirt because I really only wore it once for this photo/day. I bought it because of its stretch back so its comfortable and not cutting off any blood circulation or breathing. The side pockets make the skirt very practical too. Can't quite remember where I got it. Macau? ShenZhen? Bangkok?

I could have gone with a pair of sweet flats/pumps but I chose my Rubi boots to toughen up the girly colour combinations. And a little block heel never hurt anyone.

Gold accessories to bring our the gold button details on the skirt and an armful of bracelets, wood, white and blue. How else would you have paired this top/skirt combination?

Mayy's Closet #82

Alright, lets be fair to the food. Honestly its just that the creative juices are flowing, I want to just keep writing. I have the motivation now so why stop.

Focus here is on the strapless white/gold printed top with a tie-back from Moolala, City Beach. Its no secret that I bought this based on two reasons. First, the colour scheme. And of course, the back detail.

I really liked the long-ish length and good on my short frame. Pair it with a blazer and jeans for a more uni-appropriate look, flats or heels depending on your mood ;)

On summer days, a cute denim cut-off shorts or skirt is the way to go with flip-flops and a straw hat.

Till my next closet raid, Mayy xo

Shoestopper #7

Lucky number 7? That number is a hot favourite. Not mine personally, but it's my shoe size. 7.5 is really the perfect fit. However, because alot of normal shoe stores dont stock halves, I have to take either 7 or 8 depending on the store or the shoe style.

Today, we take a break from skyscraping heels as all women eventually have to. Even Victoria Beckham, Posh herself emerge from the airport, much to global shock, in ballet flats last year. Why flats all of a sudden? Because well, I wore one of my new favourites out and the sole is ruined...no thanks to the pouring rain. The water puddles ain't too kind to my shoes =(

Bought from Novo the year before in 2010 from Perth Harbourtown for only AUD10 or AUD5 (I really cannot remember), I only busted it out a few weeks ago. Since then, I wear it almost everyday. Pairing it with just about everything, short of fbts. I like how it instantly makes a very chill outfit slightly more formal, that little bit more corporate. It also shapes and elongates my feet, making it a look slimmer. You can notice the curves of the shoes in the photo!

Sadly, the recent downpours and me inevitably stepping into even the slightest water puddles have ruined it in such a short span of time. I must start looking for a replacement... Just like how I got it to replace my old Mondo white patent pumps/flats. Novo's not as shiny and patent, it's more leather. Stiffer and holds its shape better.

Comparing the both pairs, Mondo got more and more comfortable with each wear. Novo has the better sole here but grip wasn't that good. The thing is, they go with anything and everything and I do love them. Let me wear out more shoes before I am allowed to buy more eh? Back to wearing heels...

Till my next shoe-stopping experience, Mayy xo
