Shoestopper #45

Besides food, shoes cheer me up. But I haven't got round to purchasing any. My retail therapy has so far been online shopping of clothes and corsets and costumes and even a clutch. Wow, they all starts with C! Cookies start with C too, and one right now will be nice...

ANYWAY, I spend so much time on the computer that I even do shopping on it. Dont have much time to rock up for a nice stroll round the malls. So with shoes, I can blog about them and wear them.

But here's one I cannot wear because they are in Singapore.

Look at the gorgeous mint green. I could not say no to it when I laid eyes on it in Novo so many years back. Yes, I've had it since I was in secondary school/high school. Hence the shorter heels ;)

They were on sale and such a steal for me! While slingbacks generally slip off my heel and this one is no exception, I still had to have it. I love the colour and the print design on the sides. Novo shoes are consistently comfortable no matter what!

It literally shines on my feet and make them look so dainty. Ladies, you like?

This is the pair of stilettos I was wearing in the previous Closet post. My dressy sandals/heels for events and dinner occasions in Perth. I got them at Betts last year at one of their fabulous sales for only AUD27. It is A STEAL. One of my best bargains since they are super comfortable (cushiony soles!) and steady to walk around the whole night in. And of course, dancing post party. The straps also do NOT cut into my feet and the slingbacks hold well. No slipping off! I just love a good solid pair of heels.

I only really have one pair of dress heels in each of the countries I live in (or maybe two). First of all, I am super picky when it comes to these things. Second, I want a good investment and third, something that goes with alot of outfits. There are quite a bit more criteria but shoes find you. You don't find them. So when you come across one that really speaks to you, and you don't have an occasion for it (YET, because you can always create one), please don't let it go. NEVER. Even if you overspent your monthly budget or something. Whatevs, money can always be earned. But you will NEVER find another pair like it again. NEVER.

Have you had any shoes that you regretted letting go? Or just have this specific style you really want but there just isn't ANY like it? Don't lose hope though! Perhaps the right one is just round the corner. It took me more than a year or two to find this pair here. And when you finally get it right (and at a discount no less), it is worth everything.

Just watched the Prom episode of Glee on teevee. Inspired to blog about how hot Jonathan Groff, how pretty the dress Quinn/Dianna Agron is wearing. Anyway, I thought about the two proms I had and the pair of heels which managed to made it to both occasions! A pretty amazing feat I would add. It started my love affair for heels and as they say, the rest is history.

I got these strappy gold beauties from Americaya in Centrepoint. I don't know if the shop is still around but I know OG still sells them. I know for a fact that the shoes are very comfortable, because I always go into the shops for fun and try all their stilettos on. And even this pair of gold heels, I lasted the prom nights in them and so that says alot. The soles are soft, the straps don't cut and the heels steady for you to go dancing in.

What you can't see in this photo is that one side of this pair, the one on top, is scratched yup really really bad on the insoles. My dog, Cookie, she was real young then and just ruined it. I remembered I was so mad and I just yelled and beat her and locked her out of the house for the longest possible time ever. Don't think she liked me that much after hahaha.

I just really liked that this pair is slightly unique in the way the straps hold together and made up of many thin straps. It doesn't slip like most slingbacks do for me, phew. I am not that big of a fan on the front cut of it though. But I was too young then.

Regardless, I am not ashamed to say I love watching Glee and prom is always such a special event.
