mayyn meal - Missy Moo's Gourmet Burger Bar in Mt Hawthorn

I haven't had a proper burger in forever so after being tempted by their instagram account, I thought what the heck, let's give this place a go! So for a slightly later dinner, a friend and I decided to catch up in Mt Hawthorn. I haven't really been so it was a little bit of an adventure for me.

Got lost alittle trying to find this burger bar but eventually discovered that it was at the back of the Mezz and when we got there, I like how it is quiet and not crowded like how Grill'd tended to be.

The menu was simple with some interesting and classic burger combinations. They were trialing a lamb burger which I sadly did not have because it had olives in it. Maybe I should have. Darn. ANYWAY,

I had this Peter, Peter Pumpkin Eater burger (spicy homemade pumpkin, spinach, cous cous, butter bean pattie, beetroot, tomato, baby spinach, aioli and chilli jam with Margaret River tomato relish)

The spices worked very well together and I love how fresh the salad in the burger was! I remembered the last time I had a burger in the bun and felt absolutely sick after. However with this burger, I felt quite alright. It was not oily, the bun was slightly crisp and fresh.

I actually enjoyed my experience here at Missy Moo's

The other burger we got was the Cow Jumped Over the Moon with premium WA lean beef pattie, blue cheese, crispy prosciutto, baby spinach, aioli and Margaret River tomato relish. My friend liked this but bearing in mind a blue cheese lover here.

Chips were okay, nothing too special like how Grill'd do them or even Burger Bistro which to me has the best chips around. HOWEVER, the burgers scored 6.5/10 for this visit where Jus Burgers only really got a 3/10, V Burger a 2, Grill'd an average 4.

I just really like the freshness of the salad and how the burgers were not oily and loaded with mayo or something like that. Service could be improved though! Will return if we are in the vicinity but not something we will go out of the way for.

mayyn meal - Piccolo's Corner

Meeting up with a girlfriend brought us both to this little cafe in West Leederville, nestled amongst the quiet suburb. Parking is not easy around here so I would say it is truly a local's cafe but an exceptional one.

The outdoor place is beautiful with quirky corners everywhere and I love the photo opportunities it afforded.

Inside is equally unique with knickknacks put together properly and making it look put together!

A little cramped but somehow it all works.

This cafe is CASH only but I really like their service and generosity of letting people order and have their meals first if they don't have cash and come back and pay for it later! Which was what I did.

Coffee was quite good and while my latte was a little weak, the long mac that I took away was of a good standard that would warrant another visit.

The menu looked amazing with alot of fresh produce and freshly made sauces etc. I was having a difficult time deciding!

In the end, this dish of beans, chorizo and freshly made basil pesto won my heart. It smelled amazing and tasted as good as I hoped it would be! It certainly made my day!

I don't usually eat the toast but this one was so good and fresh and the sauce soaked through it making it irresistible! That is definitely high praise from me!

Tasha had the smoked salmon which was light, simple and healthy. The bread was definitely so fresh and perfect pairing here.

When I went to get cashout from nearby Coles, and went back to pay, I got takeaway coffee and could not resist a cake as well.

Mixed berries polenta cake was my choice.

Actually a little too sweet for me but really good with a cup of green tea I suppose.

Will I return? Definitely! I already tried making down once but it was close, so to succeed on my second try and have it been as good as I heard, I scored this place a 7.5/10!

mayyn meal - Bossman Coffee at Mount Lawley

A small quiet unassuming shop across from the bustling Grill'd Burgers in Mount Lawley brings coffeelovers in Perth some quality coffee. Follow my new foodie adventures on instagram (@mayybites) where reviews are also rated in the description!

I like the ambience with the Greek treats available.

Our coffees of Long Mac and skinny Latte were good. But prefer for it to be warmer!

Don't quite understand how it is cold though since we were having it in the shop.

Will I return? Perhaps, to try the Greek pastries that looked really good and if I am in the vicinity doing my book shopping at The Daily Planet. Ratings are given on my foodie instagram @mayybites!

Mayy's Closet - Red and Black Legs

Black Milk Clothing is having an April monthlong challenge with different themes everyday to selfie with and post to Instagram! I joined it for a couple of weeks but can no longer keep up. Props to the rest of the sharkies still going strong!!!

Anyhow, I am so ready for the cold seasons. Why is it still in the thirties degrees kinda weather?! I wanna be able to wear my leggings and knits! And my new winter wear which I splurged on over the weekend. OOPS.

Anyhow, here's a backlog OOTD post of the Red and Black legs from BM
(Already in museum and pretty sought after!) Inspired by Harley Quinn from Batman!

Paired it with a army green oversized top and my trusty black boots and sportsgirl statement necklace to match the diamond shapes of the Harley Quinn legs.

Wore it another time with black flats and black oversized top for a warmer day. That necklace was meant for these legs so I stuck to it. and managed to bump into a Batmobile! SO MEANT TO BE!

Have a wonderful week ahead y'all

mayyn meal - Stewart's in Swan Valley

Here's a backlog post of a wonderful lunch and arvo spent in Swan Valley with Jods earlier in summer. We used her entertainment book and checked out Stewart's winery.

Took me a little while to find even with my GPS, but all's great when I got there to a charming little nook.

abit of a drive in off the Great Northern Highway so look out!

Picturesque

It was quiet when we were there but had a bit more people towards the end of our lunch. Guess we were earlybirds!

Entree to share, pork belly and scallops and black pudding. The crackling crackles as it should, the scallops were seared perfectly. Flavours marry well.

Jods had the Duck Confit which was quite good from the taste I had. Still tender and flavourful.

I had the Salmon which was cooked to perfection with crispy skin and soft pink flesh. The light flavours also work well for that hot summer day. Really liked it.

Service was quite attentive and the place had a nice cozy atmosphere. Great for a date or leisurely girlfriend catchups ;)

mayyn meal - Panache Cafe on Mill Street

Good Monday morning to everyone! I hope you have had a fab weekend, with good food in that beautiful summer weather we have been having?

Anyway, I recently got an email about me posting photos of people without asking for their permission. Just wanted to show the designs of these food places, and it certainly helps in locating or identifying them amidst everything no? And sometimes, the cafes are busy and inevitably people happened to be in there. Well, if you happen to be on here and don't wish to be, just let me know and I will take it down! Am totally okay with that :) Meanwhile, it obviously isn't my intentions to violate anybody's privacy.  Besides, didn't think many people read here as this is just my own records for family and friends! In addition, the email mentioned I should research on the places I blogged about. Well, all I can say is I have and with everyone being so tech-savvy these days, I don't need to repeat any information on here right? And it is just my honest opinions about the food I ate, be it good or subpar. Anyhow, I have also gotten positive emails from some others. Appreciate that you all take the time to provide feedback, good or bad! Cheers!

All that aside, here's a new wonderful little healthy cafe on the block. Follow them on instagram (@panache_cafe_millstreet)

Cute little details like that really bring out character of the place. This cafe also has outside seating area which is great and while I was there, they had a musician playing too. Perfect!

Lunchtime gets really busy with the business crowds descending from their highrises so make sure you get in early as some of the items may sell out!

I tried the new Snickers smoothie that was one of their instagram followers' ideas. Felt really good having some healthy chocolate/dessert type thing after going on this healthy food journey and havent really been able to satisfy some naughty cravings.

It did feel a little too powdery for me though towards to the end.

The pulled pork sliders I wanted sold out so I chose the Quinoa Chicken Fritatta and a side of Quinoa Salad. Some may say that's a whole lot of Quinoa, but I really enjoyed it. Certainly kept me full for the rest of the day. That fritatta was alittle dry but the chicken pieces were chunky and generous.

The salad however, was FULL of flavour and well-seasoned. SO yummy! I loved it.

Service is also great with a smile from everyone behind the counter. I will definitely be back even if it is a little bit of a hassle getting into the city on weekdays as that's the only times they are open. I really liked the idea of having this healthy option for people during business lunch hours! Totally support it.
