As I go about my life, my head is filled with the potential clothing line I have created since I was a kid and never truly found shops that could satisfy me entirely, fashion wise. Affordablilty is always an issue. And quality. I just can never truly find these. But when I do, I build them into my bulging closet.

Today, I blog about my uniform. For plane rides, and all kinds of travel modes, normal days, bored days, and just overall laziness.


This electric blue oversized top is from Supre. I sometimes wear it as a dress during summer because thankfully, I am short enough as it is. Which explains my fascination with heels.

I love the oversized look and throwing on a pair of leggings for comfort. Accessories and makeup go a long way to make this outfit go from casual to dressy. I usually pile bangles (assorted and never matching) on my arms, and simple stud earrings with a statement necklace. Otherwise, it is statement earrings and simple necklace chains.

Since leggings are only good in black mostly, the makeup veers towards heavy eyeliner and darker eyeshadow shades. Perhaps I am never the pink toned kinda girl?

Honestly, I prefer wearing leggings over my ankles so they appear longer instead of stopping short over the shoes. Ahh well, the platform wedges from Wittner's are already winning and attention-drawing all on its own. So the nude colour works well for its design and for spring and summer.

Mayy's Closet #83

Good Monday evening everyone! Well, I suppose it is night time already and the whole being back in SG thing is starting to sink in with my later sleeptime. Anyhow, I have had quite a good week being back, meeting friends and cousins and having good food. A well-deserved break albeit some good thinking in to do.

Here's a short closet post for you ladies.

What a pretty print and I couldnt have NOT bought it when I saw it in Taipei Shihlin.

Really didnt think to pair it this way when I first bought it but this is my first time wearing it. I saw that it was long enough to cover and wear leggings with. Since it was such a gorgeous day out that day in Perth, I threw on the blue chiffon top to layer it.

I just felt the chiffon top hides some imperfections and bring out the prints. My leggings had very subtle glitter which cant be seen here in the photos. I love those leggings! Any glitter and shine ;)

Now when you see this outfit, you may think it looks familiar. I agree I do have something similar (especially colour-wise)in my closet, but why did I get it?! (besides the fact that I am such a hoarder).

Anyway, I got it because the first one in my closet is from Zara and I do love it to bits. Besides that, I wanted something comfortable and versatile from autumn to winter to spring!

The khaki green cowlneck knit dress is from Supre. While it is not made from the best material around, I wear it quite often because its quite comfy and the easiest thing on lazy days. With leggings, stockings, or on its own. With flats, booties, boots, stilettos. The possibilities are pretty much endless. Add a turtleneck beneath to keep warm, a scarf, a long necklace, a fedora hat, a slingbag, a holdall, a backpack...

I like it so much I went and got a second one, in black! Which I really like. I do have alot of blacks in my closet... Not only is it a cowl neckline, I can stretch the neckline further and have it as a drop-shoulder dress!

Mayy's Closet #57

Winter is SUCH a lazy season. Perhaps it is also because I am on vacation mood. I just so need a break. Which is what I am giving myself this weekend. No parties, no dressing up. Just leggings and oversized sweaters and hoodies. If I could leave the house in bathrobe, I would. Sitting on my ass all day in front of the telly in my tubchair, ok LOSER. Whatever. So 'tis the season where no matter how many layers you wear, you still feel cold. So sometimes, I settle for just one since it makes no difference.

And here's one of my favourite winter outfits: an olive green drop-shoulder long knitted sweater from Zara and leggings.

I bought this (four/five) years ago before I even knew I would one day actually be faced with living in a country with four seasons. I bought it in Zara Macau or Hong Kong (I can't remember if it is even in anyone of the named countries) and brought it with me to Japan too. It is so comfortable and warm and chic in my opinion. It is timeless and and I can dress it however I want to. Though usually it is just with leggings and black boots and gold accessories.

It is good for a day out or even a night out. It is a little bodycon-like so I have to push myself to not overeat and have a tummy showing. Wouldn't be a good look here! There are always that few dresses or clothes items you will never give up. This is definitely one of them for me. I wouldn't know what to do if I one day have to retire it. I don't think I will though. It will just be reduced to home-wear at most. I am so glad I stuck to my guns and told my mother I wanted it no matter what. It didn't come cheap, that much I remember but thank god for Mum and Dad's more generous spirits when we go on holidays. There are just some things worth fighting for.

Yes, I am on a break from all the auditing readings and on a blogging mission. So here we go! More clothes! Obviously this was from before the Taiwan trip but not too long ago in April. I finally wore this top I bought from Zara TRF in Singapore.

Looks like a mini dress! A boyfriend shirt look which I like because they are so comfortable and has this hint of sexiness to it. In my opinion anyway.

You thought I was going to walk around with something that short?! No way. So I threw on a pair of white denim shorts and belted it with a tan brown belt. Effortless look. Love it.

And when the colder weather rolls around, swap the denim shorts for leggings! Boots or pumps. It is such a versatile piece.

Add a scarf or layer it with a grey boatneck sweater for a preppy look.

I chose this blue colour because well, I can wear it with a high-waisted pants or skirt and put a corporate twist to it. Try telling me that the SGD29.90 (or was it SGD39.90) is not worth it? To me, it is such a bargain buy! I can't wait to wear it again!

In keeping with the previous two posts about tie-dye and wedges, here's a recent outfit I wore on Friday for a day in uni.

I knew it was going to be sweltering so I thought I would wear a pair of shorts. I only really have 4 pairs of denim shorts in my wardrobe, 2 here and 2 in Singapore. I don't wear them often because I also can't find many that fit me. This particular cuffed denim shorts is from Dotti and were on sale in Harbourtown. It was during a shopping trip there in Dec 2010 with Charlene and she bought one too. I have been wearing this pair quite abit since I came back. That is quite extraordinary because I could go a whole summer or a year in Singapore without wearing denim shorts! The denim material for this one is actually really really thick and I like the dark denim.

I didn't want to wear flats or sandals that day as I just felt like something different, Hence, the wedges. I thought I look pretty good. Does lengthen my legs and not make me look short and stubby...

That is the top I have chosen to wear for the day. Now, this top is from Australia. It is from the brand Jeanswest and I got it in Melbourne about 5 years ago. I was alot younger then, and really liked this top (trying to act adult). After much convincing, Mummy got it for me. It wasn't cheap either from what I can recall. I wore it once for Chinese New Year and didn't wear it out again till Friday, March 2011. Yes, it set in my wardrobe for that long, shuttled in and out of Singapore but I never really got round to wearing it. I just thought it made me look fat. Maybe it still does but the time was right I guess. I did try it on for a few times but ended up storing back into the wardrobe, never making past the front door. But it finally got its turn!

I just really liked the tie-dye pink colour and the sequinned designs. Abit indian inspired I would say. Which suits me just fine, pile on the indian bangles! It is also made out of a really light and silky smooth material. So yay to finding a new (?) comfortable top in my closet, without having to spend money recently. Haha. Do you know it is also long enough to cover my ass and I can wear leggings with it? Yeah, well when I lose a few stones, I will. Until then, its pairing with denim shorts. I think I used to pair it with jeans or skirts which did nothing but to emphasize my hips further as this top kinda does already...

Good afternoon people! How's your weekend coming along? It's a sunny Saturday here in WA and the sun shows no signs of slowing down. Up to 34degreecelsius in the coming days, where the heck is Autumn?!

PODS! I look like I am going overboard but hey kids back home, those were FOR YOU. My usual souvenirs which never fail to make people smile. What flavours do YOU like? Mine is Mint, then Snickers. But I can't stop even if you give me a Mars pack.

ALRIGHT, so this is NOT the topic of this post. We can always deviate on weekends. It is OKAY and even more alright if it is Sunday.

On a hot summer day a year ago, that Cotton On drop-shoulder top that I bought for AUD5 or AUD10 was one I wear constantly to keep cool. I like that it is very versatile and doesn't look like I am not making enough effort. However, the material is really one kind of lousy. Furballs after a couple of washes and the material becomes significantly thinner. Cotton On really do need to work on their quality here.

A rare look for me. I love my trilby hats but I hardly have the patience to style with it. So wearing the top long with leggings, I hope the hat made the look instantly 'cool'. WHAT A POSER. And yeah, that's Jesse, my little darling.

One of my favourite photos taken by Anna. We were in Rottnest Island for the first time, for a leadership camp by CBSplus. I still haven't had any good experiences of Rotto maybe because it is so NOT my kind of thing. However, this trip I made some pretty good friends like LiJia and XX. I like how I can slip on the top over my bikini and head to beach. Put on a pair of short surfshorts or long surfshorts for a day out running and jumping. It doesn't make me look too tomboyish and still a little sexy I hope. LOL. without showing too much.

Mayy's Closet #2

Waking up early in the morning, and basically it was go go go from that point on. What should a girl wear for a whole day out, rushing around and sitting around trying to clarify theories? Take into account the crazyhot sun out, and the potential of cold aircon or cold night wind...

For me, I decided on one of my knitted long tops/dress. I wore it as a dress yesterday, and with comfy flats to zoom around in.

I bought it before winter last year at Temt in Harbourtown so I spent most of the time pairing this with black leggings or coloured leggings with boots and a tartan printscarf. Going for a more relaxed rock chic look. I soon realised it is actually long enough to wear on its own! So I didn't retire it when the warmer weather rolled around.

It is not so tight that I cannot breathe and not overly large that it looks like Shakespeare peejays. I lovelovelove batwings/butterfly sleeves for the comfort and convenience (no need to maintain underarms haha). Long enough to not cross into slutty zone, short enough to allow some airflow. Black is also like a blank canvas where you can pair all sorts of colours. I just pile on bangles, OR wear a long necklace, OR big hoop earrings depending on the mood. Although I think big hoop earrings should be worn for night with stilettos. A party dress to be comfortable in, no need for spanx and u can pig out at dinner beforehand. Pile on the eyeliner to rock it out!

It is now filed under my casual everyday dresses section in my closet. I like that section because it is my go-to section whenever I need a quick fix or I am too lazy. Do you have such a section in your wardrobe? Or do you colourcode your wardrobe?!
